two things

and i woke up sunday morning (the day he flew in) with a sore throat. today the doc confirmed strep. yuck.

fall

happy halloween!

on one hand, i love halloween. picking out costumes, getting all dressed up, lots of candy...:) i had four kids to dress this year, and we ended up with a bunch of cute kids, that's for sure! we went to a fall fest and then trick-or-treating on top of that, so there definitely was a lot of candy.

on the down side, dressing little ones up and having them trek all over in their costumes when it's cold outside is a lot of work. especially with four little ones. and no husband this year. so, needless to say, by the time we got out the door to go to the fall fest, i was ready to quit! i persevered, however, and we spent an hour and a half playing games and eating before we left with two fussy and exhausted babies (who promptly fell deep asleep in the car).

we also went trick-or-treating since we left the party so early. we went to a mobile home park out west, and the foster kids got a ton of candy in a short amount of time since the houses are so close together. there were lots of kids out in that neighborhood, so that was nice.

tootsie monster. she loves to sit on the windowsill in the kitchen and play. she figured out that a two liter fits perfectly inside the kool-aid pitcher and was putting it in. taking it out. putting it in. she's so much fun!

tonight we went to malloween. i took five kids there by myself. granted, one of the kids is fifteen and a HUGE help, but still. what was i thinking? probably that i had the cutest princess belle ever and the most adorable little green monster! they looked so sweet, but i took no pictures to show you. we will be dressing up again tomorrow to go to a fall fest, so i promise to photograph them in all their glory.

and, lastly. i got a macbook last weekend, and i LOVE it. really, i do. seth bought it for me so that we could skype while he is away, but i think he loves it more than i do. he has been found hiding out and secretly using it multiple times over the last week. it is taking me a while to figure it out, but it's going well. i really like the layout, and the photo editing software that comes with it is grand.

okay. going to skype with the hubs for a bit and then try to catch the latest mentalist online since my foster daughter and i talked right through it last night.

eight months

emery was eight months old on saturday. hard for me to believe. he is growing into such a delightful boy!

he loves to play with the blocks, pull himself up to stand (this is often how i find him in his crib in the morning and after naps now), and follow his sister around. i'm not sure she loves having him follow her around, but she is learning to deal with it! soon enough they'll be best buddies, i'm sure.
